The Sotecnisol Group acquires Evolut.green, a leading Portuguese company in electric mobility and sustainable solutions.
With more than five decades of experience in the market and annual revenue exceeding seventy million euros, Sotecnisol is now entering the electric mobility sector with the goal of becoming a player a national leader in the energy transition, complementing the Group’s existing areas of focus: comprehensive photovoltaic energy solutions, energy communities, and energy storage.
At a time when the Smart Cities As electric vehicles take center stage and sales exceed 1,40% in Portugal, Sotecnisol’s mission is to offer solutions for the energy transition, with a focus on one-stop shop.
“Currently, Portugal ranks third in Europe in terms of purchases of these vehicles, and it is estimated that by 2035, the number of conventional vehicles for sale will be very low. But the truth is that we still don’t have enough charging stations—whether at home or on public streets—for all the cars we’ll have”, he comments Jorge Balsemão, Senior Board Advisor at Sotecnisol. “As part of this energy transition, we aim to diversify the range of electric mobility options and prepare Portugal for the future”, he concludes.
As charging systems evolve—and are expected to become less complex than they are today— Sotecnisol is committed to growing the sector in Portugal and addressing situations where energy demand exceeds the capacity of current infrastructure, particularly through the use of battery energy storage.
